Don't-Miss Events: School Leadership Summit (online) PLUS CoSN 2014, CoSNCamp, and GlobalEd in DC

The 2014 School Leadership Summit is Thursday, March 27th, online and free. This is the second year of this global, virtual event to help school leaders gather and share thinking and best practices. Keynote speakers this year will include Scott McLeod, Pam Moran, and Ira Socol; plus we'll have a special track of sessions from the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA). This is also a great chance for YOU to present if you are focused on institutional vision, teaching and learning from the leadership perspective, school reform, technology use issues, or more. To submit a proposal, go HERE. To become a conference partner organization, go HERE. To read the great reviews of last year's event, go HERE. Sign up on the conference site to receive regular updates, including the final schedule.

Coming up earlier in March, the 19th to the 22nd, in Washington, DC, is the annual CoSN Conference: http://cosnconference.org. CoSN is designed for education leaders to better understand their changing roles in creating the new face of learning, and it's a great event with terrific history and high-powered speakers. The conference starts with an opening "Town Hall Forum" with the Hon. Bob Wise and Yong Zhao, has David Pogue as closing keynote, and has special pre- and post-conference events and tours.

Of particular interest to many who have attended my unconference activities (most notably EduBloggerCon/Hack Education at ISTE and the Classroom 2.0 unconferences) is the first annual CoSNCamp, being held during CoSN on Thursday and Friday of the conference. Included in the fun will be "Spectacular Failures," a fast-paced sharing of risk-taking adventures that taught us something valuable (read: failures)! I'll be there helping the organizers, as well as sharing one of my own many "spectacular failure" stories. (Also, I have to give CoSN my "favorite logo of the year" award for this CoSNCamp logo. Awesome. Somebody deserves to take the day off!)
Finally, because Lucy Gray and I will both be at CoSN in DC, we've arranged (in truth, Lucy has arranged!) a GlobalEdCon Celebration and Meet Up for Tuesday, March 18th. We cordially invite you and your colleagues join us for an informal open house graciously hosted by our friends at the Sidwell Friends School on from 5 PM to 7 PM (Eastern). In 2014, we are celebrating the fifth anniversary of GlobalEdCon and we're excited to share information about our future plans with you at this face-to-face event. We also would like to thank those who have supported our previous events and introduce ourselves to others who may share our vision. Please join us for a relaxed evening of conversation and networking as we bring together individuals, schools and organizations who are interested in or are working in the global education space. You do need to sign up to attend as space is limited. If you are unable to attend, we'll be in DC for an extended period that week and would be happy to meet with any organizations interested in learning more about the Global Education Conference.

Have a great day!

Steve
