I have been teaching a college class on and about YouTube, and that site, certainly, was mostly a disaster for higher education (thus, allowing us to name what we needed that it did not provide) including, for example and in brief: length and depth of dialogue, ability to link and comment across texts, to talk together at the same time, to form communities.
