The conference will be free to attend, and the Call for Submissions is scheduled to open on December 12th. Be sure to join the Australian Educators network to be kept informed of conference news and volunteer opportunities as we get closer to the event.
  • We Need Your Vote!. Thanks to long time conference member, Louise Morgan, our Global Education Conference has been nominated for an Eddie! The Edublog Awards are determined by the public, and we would appreciate any votes from the GEC community at large. You need to join List.ly to vote, and we think that you'll also enjoy learning about many amazing resources and blogs that are part of this annual award. You have until December 15th to vote and details on this process are available here.
  • Games for Change Festival - Still Time to Submit!. Our friends at Games for Change shared this presentation opportunity with the members of our networks. The call for submissions closes Decemeber 15th, so be sure to check out the submission guidelines and get yours in soon! Through case studies, panels, presentations, workshops and demos, we look to highlight models for collaboration on game development and distribution, bridging the gap between compelling entertainment and issue-driven games. Our goal is to invite innovative, fresh concepts, approaches or models for advancing the field. Presentations previously made at the Games for Change Festival or similar forums are unlikely for serious consideration. The same goes for self-promotional presentations that are not focused on transparent sharing of lessons learned, failures, and meaningful takeaways for the audience. Accepted speakers will receive complimentary passes to the Games for Change Festival. There is no fee for submissions. More information at http://www.gamesforchange.org/festival/.
